Noble Nomad Cabernet Shiraz Blend 2019

The grapes were harvested from the Western Cape, destemmed and cold-soaked for 48 hours before fermentation commenced. This process followed in stainless steel red wine fermenters for approximately 10 days. Aroma and colour extraction was achieved by delastage and daily pump-overs. The wine was partially aged in 300-litre French oak barrel as well as selected premium French oak staves for 8 months.

The Smokey tobacco and earthy notes set the dark scene of the Nomad's betrayal and deceit. The Shiraz provides the spicey tone with just the right amount of Cabernet Sauvignon to balance the charm and seduction of the Nomad. This particular wine has won Gold in 2016, 2018 and 2019 Gold Wine Awards and is a perfect blend to enjoy now or mature for a year or two. This red blend has a deep purple-red colour with notes of ripe plums and black currant. This leads to fresh red berries and chocolate with hints of white pepper.

Barony Cecile Sauvignon Blanc 2019

This Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect summer wine, lovely and bright with a light green tinge. Intense aromas of bell peppers, tropical fruits and herbaceous blackcurrants are present on the nose. These flavours are joined by fleshy green figs and lashings of Cape Gooseberry tanginess on the palate- refreshingly crisp with ample juiciness and a good length.

After good winter rains in 2018, the crop and grape analysis of the 2019 vintage looked extremely promising up until February. Slow ripening and cold rainy weather in March proved very changeling towards the end of harvest. Despite a smaller crop, good quality wines are expected from this vintage. Smaller wine grape berries have a greater concentration of flavours and wines also show good acidity, sugar and elegance.

Barony Røsslyng Chardonnay 2019

The Barony Røsslyng Chardonnay has a pale yellow colour with a luminous green hue. The nose is met by fresh citrus characteristics followed by the hints of fresh golden apples, apricot blossoms and luscious gooseberries.

Beautifully ripened peaches pave the way alongside creamy pineapple to a generous palate with great fruit purity and concentration.

Perfect with light and delicate food such as prawns, grilled fish or vegetable terrines. Salads, pasta or risotto pairs well with this wine as well as creamy vegetable dishes.

This Pinotage has a deep and dark hue. Smokey whiffs of cocoa-dusted blueberries, roasted coffee beans and warm spice greet the nose. The palette is tantalised by bright cherry and baked plum flavours. It is luscious and juicy with good structure and ripe subtle tannins.

This wine is a great elegant sipper on its own with good company. It will also pair perfectly with BBQ mixed grills and exotic hot Indian curries. You could also dim the lights, sit back, enjoy a glass of this great wine while you indulge in decadent dark bitter chocolate truffles.

This classic full-bodied blend has a deep ruby plum hue. Ripe and juicy layers of seductive blackcurrant and blackberry fruits entice the nose while whiffs of cedar add a bit of heady spice.

The palate is broad and satisfying with mouthfuls of dense and dark fruits. Tannins are still firm and the wine will benefit from cellaring up to 10 years from vintage.

The Reserve Hilltop Pinot Noir is bright ruby red with a slight translucency around the edges. The wild berry and cherry aromas are balanced by mellow earthy tones of cinnamon and spice. The palate shows pure fruit, generous concentration with rounded tannins and a silky smooth finish.

Reserve Black Spice 2018

Grapes for the Shiraz was harvested and hand-picked in the early morning from the foothills of the Helderberg Mountains. The maritime climate ensures warm sunny days that are cooled down by the ocean breezes in the afternoon.

The Grenache was harvested from the Simonsberg Mountains in Paarl. The shale soils maintain strong and healthy vines. Both cultivars were vinified separately and were moved into 300L French Oak barrels. A mix of 1st to 3rd fill barrels were used ensuring mild wood integration. The wines aged for 14-18 months.

This juicy blend is sure to seduce the senses with its bright red sheen and whiffs of red berries and warm spices. The serious nature of Shiraz marries perfectly with the playfulness of Grenache. The aromas of ripe plums and hints of coffee create a wine with a vibrant, yet generous palate. The finish is delightfully smooth with volume and a surprising length. This red blend is paired with Mediterranean fares like roasted red pepper and olive pasta or try it with barbeque meats spiced with sage and rosemary salt.

Our Reserve Hilltop Shiraz 2018 has a dark purple hue and displays characters typical to the wines found in the Rhone Valley in France.

The nose is wonderfully fragrant with violets, sweet coffee and charred oak dominating the bouquet. Subtle hints of plums and liquorice add to the complexity. The palate is quite soft with rich fruit cake flavours that lead to a well-structured finish.

This wine will pair perfectly with roasted meats, marinated pork ribs or try with aged hard cheese like a matured Gouda.

Reserve Mistral Rhone Blend 2015

The Reserve Rhone Blend is a versatile wine, also known as GSM. Pairing with barbequed meats, roasted duck, spring lamb or try with a soft and creamy Camembert.

Bright and inviting lashing crimson red, perfumed notes of spices and violets, makes for a perfect introduction with subtle whiffs of oak and white pepper contributing to the bouquet. On the palate juicy and decadent, mouthfuls of ripe red berry flavours that concludes with an unexpected twist towards the end, adding to the complexity of this wine. The firm tannins will ensure beautiful ageing.

Reserve Blue Mountain Bordeaux Blend

The Reserve Blue Mountain is a Bordeaux blend with a deep dark hue. Perfume of ripe blackcurrant infused with roasted coffee beans and tobacco leaves line the nose. The palate is rich and densely fruited showing black plum and hints of dark chocolate. The wine has great structure and balance and concludes in a long tapered finish.

All 4 cultivars were vinified separately and the wines were aged for 18 months and blended before bottling.

The Reserve Blue Mountain is best served with Sunday Roasted Lamb. Grilled Rib-eye steak with decadent gorgonzola or wild mushroom sauce.

Neil Ellis Rodanos

The name Rodanos is the celtic term for Rhône and represents a wine region in France where Syrah and Grenache are primarily cultivated. Rodanos is a multi-vineyard blend of the same varieties where two vineyards are combined with scientific skill in the cellar. It acknowledges the art, technology and science of vineyard blending.

The wine has an attractive bright purple red colour with red berry aromatics and underlying spicy notes. Generous with soft texture and fine tannins. Flavours of tart red cherries and cranberries ending with a spicy pepperyness.
